Recently, the Chester County Board of Education released the data from the Spring 2023 state testing (TCAP, EOC) data of last school year.
The data shows that the following Chester County Schools either met AMO or Double AMO: East Chester Elementary – second Grade Math and ELA and third Grade Science; Jacks Creek Elementary – second Grade ELA and Math and all third Grade; West Chester Elementary – third Grade Math and Science; Chester County Middle – fourth Grade ELA and Math; Chester County Junior High – seventh Grade Math and Social Studies; and Chester County High School – Algebra I and Biology.
Chester County Schools that scored TVAAS Level 5 are the following: East Chester Elementary – third Grade Math and Science; Chester County Middle – fourth Grade Math and fifth ELA and Science; Chester County Junior High seventh Grade Social Studies and eighth Grade Math; and Chester County High – US History.
“AMOs” are based on achievement (number of students who scored at the highest two levels of performance- meeting or exceeding expectations) and “AMO” means “achievement measure objectives.” “TVAAS” are based on growth (actual growth in learning compared to projected growth in learning). Overall, Level 5 schools were East Chester Jacks Creek Elementary and Chester County Middle School. “Level 5 growth” means that the district students made significantly more growth in learning than expected in comparison to other Tennessee students of that grade/subject. More information will be available later this semester when the school-level report cards will be provided.
