City meets tonight, Jan. 11

The City of Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, in the Henderson City Hall council chamber.
Following a police officer award presentation by the police department, the board will hear any other delegations and then proceed to the remaining items on the agenda and any other business, including discussion of COVID leave for employees.
In other items, Matt Wood of ATA will present a report on the June 30, 2023 City and Utility Department Audit Report.
The board will consider an ordinances on the final reading per the requirements of Section 5 of the Henderson Municipal Code to set the Mayor’s Salary for the person that will be elected to the position in August 2024 and on the final reading to amend the Municipal Zoning Map of Henderson by rezoning tax parcels 5, 6, 7, 8, and 8.03, Chester County Tax Map 45 from R-1 (Low Density Residential) to B-1 (General Business). Parcels are further described as the north side of Jacks Creek St. from 425 through 505 Jacks Creek St. which are owned by Chester County Board of Education.
The board will discuss and consider eliminating the six-month probationary period for all new employees before they are enrolled into the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS), and will consider passage of the Resolution required by TCRS, and consider an ordinance amending the Personnel Policy to reflect this change.
Finally, the board will consider the purchase of concrete barriers to create a storage area for the utility department sand and gravel stockpile.
