Each year the Henderson Civitan Club awards a $500 scholarship to outstanding seniors in Chester County who, among other things, must write an essay concerning citizenship. This year’s winners are all Chester County High School graduates: Ivy Osburn, Lexi Novak and
Laura Beth Welch.
A caravan of cars containing Civitan President Stacey Dalton, Secretary Shirley Eaton
and husband, Ray, who was President last year, Scholarship Committee Chairman Susan Edmonds and CCHS Tennis Coach Debbie Hames arrived at the home of Ivy Osburn where she was presented with her Certificate, balloons and a letter of congratulations from the Civitan Club. On hand to celebrate with her were her parents, siblings and her grandparents. Then she joined the caravan, and the process was repeated at the home of Lexi Novak. The caravan grew as Lexi, her parents and friends met at the house of Laura Beth Welch where more friends and family had gathered. This fall, the girls will enroll at Freed-Hardeman University.
