Freed-Hardeman University has been recognized by Colleges of Distinction in five categories: Tennessee College of Distinction, a Christian College of Distinction, a College of Distinction for Business, for Education and for Nursing.
Currently celebrating its 20-year anniversary, Colleges of Distinction is a one-of-a-kind guide for college-bound students. It supports student-centered schools that traditional rankings often overlook. The site considers the freshman experience, retention efforts, general education programs, career development and student satisfaction. Schools must adhere to four distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, a vibrant community and successful outcomes. This model prioritizes the student opportunities that make for a fulfilling, individualized college experience.
The website is committed to honoring schools for true excellence in higher education. The member schools within the Colleges of Distinction consortium distinguish themselves through their focus on the undergraduate experience. Its website provides college profiles, customized tools and resources for students, parents, and high school counselors. Additional information available at CollegesofDistinction.com.
