The City of Henderson is working with an anonymous donor to have a splash pad at Gene Record Memorial Park.
The donor will be providing funds for the construction of the splash pad, while the City of Henderson will be responsible for all other amenities and maintenance of the splash pad.
Mayor Bobby King and the Park Board announced that the first phase of construction on the splash pad should begin next month with the second phase beginning in April.
It will be a fresh water to drain 25’x30’ (750 sq. ft.) splash pad with 12 below ground nozzles, one large mushroom, one single bucket dump, one duck, one fish, one large turtle, one large bollard activator and have 750 sq. ft. of broom finish concrete.
Mayor King’s goal is for the splash pad to open on Memorial Day.
“The park is a perfect example of when public, private and nonprofits work together. This is what you get,” Mayor King said about Gene Record Memorial Park.
