From Thursday, July 29 to Saturday July 31 members of the Chester County community put on the production of “You Can’t Take it With You” to raise money for the Jeff Lewis Memorial Scholarship. “You Can’t Take It With You” was the first play that Lewis directed said Jesse McCaskill who directed the performance of the play this weekend.
“When Jeff moved to Chester County in 2005, CCHS had not had a theatre teacher in several years. He brought theatre back to CCHS with the production The Invisible Man.
Jeff co-directed many plays and musicals during his time at CCHS. He was always willing to take on any production role that was needed. He always seemed to pick up where others left off and fill in the gaps. Jeff was always willing to be the “silent servant” in the background,” McCaskill said.
The scholarship fundraiser was a success with over 300 attendees and $4,100 raised.
