Eagles earn second win over Cavaliers

On Thursday, December 21, the Chester County Eaglettes earned themselves an early Christmas gift after defeating Crockett County in a heated battle on the courts.
From beginning to end, either team could win.
The game started with a three by Jena Melton which led to a 11-4 lead CCHS had over Crockett. Eventually, the Eaglettes were stalled on the scoreboard at 17 and lost a 17-12 lead and started losing 21-17. Going into halftime, the Eaglettes were down 33-27, but they were not done fighting yet.
By the end of the third, they earned the lead back and were winning 45-43.

Thus, in the fourth, the two teams still were playing with each possession being critical.
With 1:28 left in the game, the Crockett Lady Cavaliers scored two de-creasing their deficit to three with CCHS winning 60-57, The Eaglettes killed major time on the clock until there was 15 seconds remaining then fouled the Eaglettes sending them to the free throw line.
Unfortunately the free throws did not go in to help the Eaglettes out. Nonetheless, as Crockett tried to go back down court with little time remaining, they attempted a three that was blocked by Jariyah Williamson with 2.7 seconds left, knocking it out of bounds. At that point it was game with the 2.7 seconds not being enough time for Crockett to do anything. The Eaglettes won 60-57.
This three-point win made the girls ecstatic after losing to Crockett by two on December 1.
Even more so, the Eaglettes continue to prove that they are a team to be reckoned with.
The Eagles game on the otherhand was less intense as the Eagles cruised past the Cavaliers fairly easy with a final score of 66-56.
Both the Eaglettes and Eagles have great overall records of 10-2 and 11-1, respectively.
