Hello from Enville! I hope you all are enjoying your week. Our hearts are heavy for the folks affected by the tornados that moved through on Friday night. There were nine fatalities in McNairy County, and many homes damaged or destroyed. On the Tennessee River in the Dickie’s Landing area, there was destruction everywhere; homes were damaged and some were destroyed. It is all so heartbreaking to see all the devastation. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of them. May God comfort them in this time.
We had rain on Monday. I pray everyone was safe during the storms on Wednesday. I know it is spring, but I am ready to have some dry and sunny weather soon!
This week is Holy Week, the week leading up to Easter. It starts with Palm Sunday on April 2. Maundy Thursday, or Passover, commemorates the foot washing and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. Holy Saturday commemorates Jesus’ body resting in the tomb. Easter Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and his victory over death (https://www.crosswalk.com>Easter). Many churches will have Holy Week services and Sunrise services for you to attend. Sanford Hill Baptist Church in Henderson will hold a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. out by the crosses. It is a wonderful service. Please feel free to attend and come for Easter Services. The churches in Enville welcome you to their Easter services also.
Easter is a fun time for the kiddos, getting together with family and friends, hunting eggs, eating chocolate bunnies and hearing what Easter is really about.
Our prayer concerns this week are for Lisa Bishop, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Loretta Plunk, Robert and Linda Johnson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Kathy Emerson, Joann Fowler, Dot Smith, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, those who have lost loved ones, storm victims and, as always, each other.
Happy birthday wishes go to Audrey Trammell on April 10 and Maxine Crowell on April 11. We hope y’all enjoy your special day!
