Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. We are still being blessed with summer-like weather, which is fine by me. It could go forever! I suppose the kids and faculty have gotten back in the swing of school since their fall break vacation. It is Halloween time, and I know all the kiddos are ready to dress up in their favorite costumes and fill those pumpkins with candy. Be sure to come to downtown Enville. Maggie’s is inviting everyone to come set-up for Trunk or Treat from 3-6 p.m. Oct. 28. Decorate your trunk and have lots of candy ready. I hear there may be a prize for best decorated! They will have barbeque and trimmings, hotdogs, chili/chili dogs, chips and drinks available; you may purchase your meal and go inside and have a seat. Everyone, please bring your little ghosts and goblins to downtown Enville on Oct. 28!
The Enville Community Club will have a veteran’s dinner and program at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the community center. We invite veterans to come out to have a great meal, enjoy the short program and be recognized for your service to our country. Please invite a veteran you many know. We appreciate your dedication!
Daylight Savings Time ends on Nov. 5. I, for one, am not looking forward to it. The evenings seem so long with it getting dark so early. Before you go to bed on Saturday night, FALL BACK one hour on your clock so you will be on time for church or whatever you may do; otherwise, you will be too early!
Happy birthday wishes go to Tanya Harwell on Oct. 28, Malcolm Weeks and Tom Harwell on Oct. 29 and Wayne Pugh on Nov. 2. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please continue prayers for Mary Lee Guyon, Lisa Bishop, Agnes and Robert Smith, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Nicole Thompson, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Janice and Danny Keen, Amanda Johnson, Ann Pugh, Vicki Dickson, Anita Needler, Sherry Webb, Jean Pickett, Loretta Plunk, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Tim Harris, Mike Finley, Lee Trice, Clint Murley, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other. Remember me as well. I will be having some tests done.
If you want to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125, or if you have news, call me at 608-3058.
Have a blessed week everyone!
