Hello from Enville! Happy Christmas week, everyone! I hope you all are having a great week. I do not have our Christmas shopping done, but I am very close. I will get finished up in a few days. I did the wrapping and bagging last week, so I am caught up on that; some years Danny does it all, and some years, I do it, but we get it done!
Winter begins on Dec. 21. The temperatures have felt like it was already here, and we have had some heavy frosts that looked like snow on several mornings. I am ready to get it started so we can get it over! Winter is not my favorite time of year, but as fast as the months fly by, it will pass quickly! I hope the kids, teachers and staff are enjoying their Christmas break although there is some sickness going around, like strep throat and flu. Maybe they can get it behind them and enjoy the rest of their time off. Praying they will feel better by Christmas!
Enville Methodist Church had their Christmas dinner Sunday night. They had delicious food, and they enjoyed the fellowship. Milledgeville Methodist also had theirs on Sunday night. Brother Robert Conder pastors both churches, and he made it to both to enjoy the fellowship with all. If you are looking for a church home, visit these or other churches in the area. They will welcome you to join them at their worship services.
We had a great time at our family Christmas party at my brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Judy Harris’, home on Saturday. There were 37 in attendance. We ate, played Dirty Santa and enjoyed the fellowship. We missed the ones that were not there due to sickness.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Cooper Lutz on Dec. 22 and Ron Maness and Cory Finley on Dec. 23. Happy Anniversary to Danny and Kay Swafford on Dec. 24. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please continue prayers for Lisa Bishop, Vicki Dickson, Anita Needler, Mary Lee Guyon, Agnes and Robert Smith, Robert and Linda Johnson, Danny Keen, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Nicole Thompson, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Loretta Plunk, Kaye Killingsworth, Sherry Webb, Jean Pickett, Don and Frances Willis, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Mike Finley, Justin Godsey, Lee Trice, Clint Murley, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, our county and country, all who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone and remember what Christmas is all about; tell someone who may not know the Christmas Story.
