FHU Promotes five in Division of Academics

Freed-Hardeman University has announced the promotion of five individuals within the Division of Academics, according to President David R. Shannon. They will assume their new duties June 1.
Dr. LeAnn Davis has been named associate vice president for instruction. She will continue to serve as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Jason Brashier, dean of the College of Business, will also serve as the associate vice president for innovation, planning and assessment.
Davis, who has been a member of the FHU faculty since 1999, will be responsible for advancing the university’s academic quality and learning experience. As a senior academic officer, she will have authority and responsibility for planning, budgeting, scheduling, personnel, curriculum, instruction, academic program development and assessment, and other instructional matters within the Division of Academics. Units reporting directly include College of Arts and Sciences, Academic Success and Records, Libraries and Center for Instructional Innovation.
Brashier, a member of the business faculty since 2005, will provide senior-level leadership coordinating the development and execution of the Division of Academic’s strategic direction, innovation, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts. The following units will report directly to him: Office of Emerging and Innovative Programs, Office of Graduate Admissions, Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment, FHU/Memphis, and FHU/Dickson.
In addition, Jared Gott, an FHU employee since 2007, has been promoted to director of emerging and innovative programs as well as the director of the Quality Enhancement Program. Units reporting to Gott include: dual enrollment, QEP, ROTC, sophomore early admission, testing, tutoring and veterans resources. He currently serves as the university’s registrar.
Susan Kimpel, has been named the director of academic success and records and registrar. She has been the records specialist since 2015. Stephanie Duncan, former secretary in the registrar’s office, has become the records specialist.
“These outstanding and highly-qualified individuals have demonstrated tremendous success in their current positions,” Dr. C.J. Vires, provost and vice president for academics, said. “Their skills and talents will undoubtedly serve the division well as they provide leadership within their new areas of responsibility.”
