Mary Lee Farris Frye, 88, died on Feb. 26, 2020.
She was born in the Montezuma community of Chester County, the daughter of the late William Lee and Lela Hall Farris.
She, her husband Troy, and two sons, Ken and Keith, owned and operated Frye’s Carquest Auto Parts in Henderson for 13 years. Even after retirement, she worked part-time at Simmons Lumber Company for 23 years.
Prior to that she worked at Salant and Salant for 13 years and also at the West Chester Eementary School for 11 years in the cafeteria.
She wed Troy Frye on Feb. 14, 1948, in Corinth, Miss. They recently celebrated their 72nd anniversary. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Janice, Ken and Keith. She was loved by many and was affectionately known as “Mama Frye.” She had an infectious smile that could light up a room as she entered, making everyone she met feel loved and special.
She never met a stranger and always encouraged everyone she met. Her friends and family played an important part in her life, and she treasured each moment spent with them. She loved gardening, cooking and riding her four-wheeler and golf cart.  She especially loved her companion of 13 years, her faithful dog, Mac.  (See complete obituary in the obituaries section).
