Former business owner Shirley Franks Kelley passes away January 26

Shirley Franks Kelley, 79 years and 8 months, departed this life on Jan. 26, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
In 1989 she and David moved to Selmer and opened Bale Fashions. A few years later, they opened a second store in Henderson, which was her passion and vocation until the day of her home-going.  She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and never backed up from hard work.
She was born May 27, 1940 in Flatwoods to the late Jimmy and Lessie Holt Franks, the oldest daughter of five children.
She worked in the garment and manufacturing industry around the Clifton and Waynesboro areas for several years and was a faithful Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Clifton.
She was loved by all who knew her and especially enjoyed visiting with the many friends and customers who would drop by her store.
