Freed-Hardeman University faculty, staff receive service recognition awards

FHU employees with 15 years of experience include Dr. Bryan Black, management; Dr. Chris Creecy, behavioral sciences; Rebecca Bush, nursing; and Dr. Jared Gott, emerging and innovative programs

Thirty-one members of Freed-Hardeman University’s faculty and staff were acknowledged for reaching milestones for their years of service during last week’s convocation.
“Without our faculty and staff, Freed-Hardeman would be only a shell of bricks and mortar,” FHU President David Shannon said. “The heart of love and ambition of this place lies within them. It was truly an honor to recognize 31 of them at a milestone in their service to students. This is a special place because of them.”  
The mission of Freed-Hardeman University is to help students develop their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that integrates Christian faith, scholarship and service. With locations in Henderson and Memphis, FHU offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees.

These employees have spent 10 years with the university: Shannon Chasteen, information technology; Carole Cosbey, enrollment; Kim Gott, advancement; Jimmie Hill, facilities; Price Irwin, security; Dr. Caleb Kersey, biology; Bruce Kizer, facilities; Don Purvis, security; Kaylan Stewart, admissions; and Jacob Wilson, facilities. 
The following individuals were recognized for five years of service: Dr. Rick Brumback, biblical studies; Dr. Elise Chaffin, chemistry; Dr. Perry Hardin, Spanish; Melissa Hopkins, library; Kristen Roberson, marketing; Shannon Sewell, facilities; Drew Stutts, athletics; Mallory White, human resources; Kimberly Whitt, management; and Beth Youngblood, nursing. 
Lisa Beene, behavioral sciences, and Dr. Mike Cravens, behavioral health, are honored for 35 years with FHU. 
Twenty-year employees include Missie Ellis, residence life; Dr. Stephen Morris, law and political studies; Wade Osburn, library; and Kyle Lamb, advancement; Larry Cyr, facilities, was recognized for 30 years
