Approximately 1,200 junior and senior high students are expected to visit Freed-Hardeman University Friday, Oct. 7 — Sunday morning, Oct. 9, for RUSH (Reaching Unlimited Spiritual Heights) 2022. This year’s annual youth rally will focus on “The Won Fight.”
Taken from II Kings 6:8-23, lessons will encourage young Christians “to take off the blinders for a clearer view of the one fight that truly matters and that has already been won,” leaders say. The weekend will include devotionals, singing, classes, keynote speeches and recreational activities.
This year’s event marks a return to the events of the traditional RUSH weekend. In 2020, the youth rally went virtual because of COVID-19. Last year, FHU hosted an abbreviated version in conjunction with FHU’s Homecoming.
The $40 fee for RUSH registration includes all events and activities throughout the weekend, lunch and dinner on Saturday, a t-shirt and registration packet. Limited housing is available at Mid-South Youth Camp for an additional $20 per person for the weekend. Participants may also arrange their own housing. FHU student groups, including intercollegiate athletics, Chorale, Theatre and University Program Council, will provide entertainment throughout the weekend.
Participants may arrive between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday for check-in. RUSH will conclude with a Sunday morning worship service. Registration forms and a schedule of events may be found at fhu.edu/RUSH.
