The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions basketball team has added Zanasha Gadlen, a point guard out of Martin.

Gadlen was an All-District point guard this past year and helped lead Martin Westview to the State Championship back in March. She averaged 11 points and five assists for the Chargers.

Coach Dale Neal of FHU adds that Gadlen’s speed will be a huge asset to the Lady Lions, as well as her experience playing for a strong high school program.

“Coming from a great program with a great tradition and having that ‘big game’ experience puts her a step ahead as she transitions to the college game,” Neal said. “To say she is fast is an understatement. She will be one of the three or four fastest girls to ever play here.

“She makes good decisions with the ball, she finds the open player and distributes the ball extremely well, and her ability to attack the rim is a great compliment to her ability to score from the outside,” Neal concluded.
