Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions take on Mid-South Fall Invite

The Freed-Hardeman women’s golf team competed in the Mid-South Fall Invite at the Bowling Green Country Club. The Lions posted a team score of 343 in the first round, with round two being suspended due to darkness.
Sophomore Lily Conkle led the way for the team, shooting 81 (+9). Next was junior Bailey Gilbert with an 84 (+12) with senior Camille Blaylock just one shot behind her with an 85 (+13). Sophomore Riya Key and freshman Makenzie Wilson both shot 92 (+20). Competing individually, junior Sara Browning shot 88 (+16) and sophomore Reagan Malone shot 95 (+23) in their opening rounds.
The team is currently in seventh place just two strokes behind Bethel University (Tenn.) and ahead of the University of Pikeville (Ky.) by two strokes. The Lady Lions were able to get in 16 holes of their second rounds before play was suspended. The second round will resume at 7:45 tomorrow morning with the third round immediately to follow.
