Freed-Hardeman University Lions down Blue Raiders to move onto Conference

The (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lions took game two away from the Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College Blue Raiders in a run-rule seven-inning ballgame by a score of 17-0. The Lions outhit the Blue Raiders (17-27) by thirteen hits to one hit.
The Lions (34-17) got the scoring party going by adding five runs in the bottom of the second inning. Zach Sanders gets the inning going with a walk and quickly steals second base. Sean Rooney and Mason Libla walk to have the bases loaded for Baron Ratliff. He delivers with a two-RBI single to score 2-0 Lions. William Kelley and Christian Presley both reach the bottom and bring up to the plate Adam Smithson. He helps the Lions out with a 2-RBI single to make the score 4-0 Lions. With a failed pick-off attempt, Presley scores to add on one more run to make the overall score 5-0 Lions.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kelley adds one more run to extend the Lion’s lead 6-0. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Smithson leads off with a walk, and Will McCall adds on two runs to help the Lions raise their lead to 8-0 Lions. Later in the inning, Rooney also homers to bring Cam Madding home to make the lead 10-0 Lions. With Libla and Ratliff reaching base, Anthony Jarvis singles to bring home one runner to make the score 11-0 Lions. Next up to the plate, Smithson hits his first home run of the season, scoring three runs to make the score 14-0 Lions.
Manuel Claro leads off the bottom of the sixth inning through the left side of the infield. Ratliff singles right behind him to have runners on first and second base. Then, Jarvis homers to finally score 17-0 Lions.
Colton Huntt (8-4) wins for the Lions; he pitched five innings, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out four batters. Back in action again, Houston High pitches a perfect sixth inning allowing no base runners to reach. Seth Creasy shuts the door in the seventh inning, walking one batter and striking out two hitters.
