On Saturday, Nov. 12, Freed-Hardeman University hosted their “FHU 5K for the Children Benefiting the Carl Perkins Center” run. That day, 146 runners supported the center as they ran in the cold weather. With about 30 more registrants than last year, the race raised more than $8,600 for the Chester County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. In first place overall was Drew Williams. In second place overall was Eli Combs. In third place overall was Silas McManus. Pictured are all of the runners along with FHU employee Matt Barker who organized the race as he hands the $8,600 check to Chester County Carl Perkins Center Director, Kirbi Fahs.
