In other business during the Henderson Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting, Heather Griffin of the Gene Record memorial Park Board shared the news about the Friends of Gene Record Park 2021 Trails & Treats at Gene Record Park on October 30.
It is taking place to offer a safe, fun event for families in the community. Candy will be given out and all activities will be during daylight hours starting at 4 p.m.
The park will be closed and set up for groups will be 2 p.m.-3:45 p.m. Businesses participating will simply set up a booth or table to hand out treats. You can also provide a game or interactive activity for families … but that is optional.
To participate with your church, business, or organization; message Shane Connor or email shaneshbc@gmail.com as soon as possible to reserve your spot!
During the regular session of the meeting, the board approved action on amending the zoning of the property at Fire Station #1 (505 Sanford Street) and the adjacent lot (the proposed site of the new CC911 Communication Center) from R-1 (Residential) to B-4 (Highway Business).
They also approved a Resolution authorizing the application and local matching funds for a Property Conservation Matching Grant Program through the city’s insurance pool.
The board authorized taking bids and allowing acceptance of the best bid on coating the roofs at 60 Record Drive (Utility) and 760 US 45 North (Maintenance Shop) and the purchase of a pickup truck on state contract for the utility department.
