This week, Chester County Eagles Football will have to focus on getting a win versus Obion Central after the Eagles took a hard loss against the Hardin County Tigers last Friday, 47-3.
“I still believe in these guys. We’re still learning… I’m not down on my group. We’re gonna fight” Head Coach Dewond Johnson said. “We just got to keep being positive and encouraging each other.”
It hurt the Eagles in the district a little putting them at 1-1 in the district, but the Eagles are still in position to possibly reach their goal of having a home game in the district playoffs.
Until then, the team is taking it a day at a time Johnson said.
“Our focus right now is to be 1-0 at the end of next week (this week). That’s how we’re going to win it. We’re going to go week by week; day by day.”
The Eagles will not have the pressure of a district game this week since Obion Central is in another district, but they do have the pressure of it being homecoming this Friday night at Eagle Stadium.
If the game is like the home games have been thus far this season the stadium will be packed with fans to cheer on this football team.
Read next week’s issue to see the results from the game along with coverage of the homecoming events and homecoming court.
