Greetings from Hickory Corner!
My heart breaks for all those affected by the tornado. It has been a difficult and sad week for many. Lives lost and so many with homes that were destroyed or damaged. McNairy County reports nine lives lost with 72 homes destroyed. Last I heard, over 15 lives were lost over several counties. Our community expresses sympathy to those families who lost loved ones and pray that all affected will get the help they need. If you can help in any way, please do.
It was scary here also as Terry, Jo Ellen and I went to the storm house twice. We are thankful that we did not have any damage around here. Always listen to the weather and be prepared to seek shelter.
Those celebrating April birthdays include: Patsy Clayton (4/6), William Luttrell (4/23), and Tanya Clayton (4/30). Wishing you all many blessings on your special day. The birthstone for April is the diamond, and the April birth month flowers are the daisy and sweet pea. Please call me with your birthday so I can add you to my list and include you when your big day rolls around.
I guess many are getting ready to color Easter Eggs, and the kids are excited about hunting them and getting an Easter basket filled with candy. I remember those traditions way back when with my kids. Let us not forget the real meaning of Easter, which is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead giving us the hope of eternal life.
