Greetings from Hickory Corner!
It is time to Fall Back! Yep, Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m. this coming Sunday, Nov. 6. So, this Saturday, before going to bed, set your clocks back one hour. Yes, it will give you one hour of extra sleep, but the result will cause it to start getting dark earlier and earlier. I do not like the time change.
Judy Cranford reports that there will be a Phillips School Reunion Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Hickory Corner Community Center located on State Route 225. There will be a potluck meal at noon. Everyone is invited, even if you did not attend Phillips School but have friends or family who did. Please notify family and friends of this reunion and bring school pictures and your memories to share. For more information call Judy Cranford at 989-2080, Buddy Richardson at 608-3519, Bill Phillips at 989-9483 or Edith Lott Sills at 989-3271.
Here in West Tennessee the farmers are busy picking cotton. The machinery picks and bales at the same time. Oh my, how times have changed! I am missing the beautiful cotton fields as I see that many around Hickory Corner already have their cotton picked, baled and wrapped. Thank you to all the farmers for their hard work.
Happy birthday wishes go out to these folks who are celebrating a November birthday: Judy Cranford (11/1), Alfred Garner (11/21), Cindy Melton (11/22) and Dennis Clayton (11/24). Hope your day is special and blessed! Your November birth flower is the Chrysanthemum, which we know better by the name of Mum. If you would like a birthday mentioned, please call me, and I will be happy to add it to my the list.
Remember in prayer Richy Butler, Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Peggy Lard, William and Eddie Luttrell and Donna Lynch. Continue to pray for each other, our country and our world. Also, sympathy to all those who have recently lost loved ones. If you would like to add or remove a name from our prayer list, please call me.
Sympathy to the family of Greg Green. Greg was born in Henderson and a 1968 graduate of Chester County High School. Greg passed away in Newnan, Ga., on Oct. 24. He was a pilot in the Air Force and later a pilot for Delta. Greg was the son of Clyde Jones Green and Marianne Jackson Faulkner.
If you would like to rent the HCC Center for your special event, please call Nancy Patterson at 608-1159.
I need your support for this article. Please call me with tidbits and news at 989-3315. You can share your vacations, birthday, anniversaries and much more. I need to hear from you.
Make it a great week!
