Judy McKenzie introduced the speakers, Roger Boleyn and Samantha Campbell, Chester County Youth Service Officers. The officers do three jobs – schedule the Juvenile Court docket, carry out the orders of Judge McKenzie with supervision and make sure all civil rights are done by the book. They deal with custody; delinquency, child support and visitation; oversee DCS, the Foster Care Review Board and the Truancy Board (students who miss a certain number of days must come before the Board. Ninety-five percent of youths who come before their office are just there one time; the other five percent come over and over. The officers see about 10 youths per month (120 per year). They are on duty 24/7 and can get calls any time of the day or night. There are just these two officers, plus an intern who cannot go out on calls.
After the program, a business meeting was held and then refreshments were served. Kay Tignor and Joan Swift won the door prizes.
