Girl Scouts Heart of the South Kicks Off Cookie Season

Girl Scout Cookies are arriving throughout North Mississippi and Girl Scouts will be hosting their annual booth sales February 9 through March 10.
Everyone is encouraged to check out your local grocery store or retail store chains on the weekends to find girls at booth locations. If you don’t know a Girl Scout or don’t know where the cookie booths are located, you can search locations online and by zip code. Girl Scout Cookie Booth locations can be found by visiting www.girlscoutcookies.org and entering your zip code to search by date and location to find the cookie booth nearest you.
Supporting the Girl Scout Cookie Program helps Girl Scouts earn money for program activities, summer camp and community service projects. The program also plays a huge role in transforming girls into tomorrow’s leaders as they learn essential life skills that will stay with them forever. “The Girl Scout Cookie Program gives our budding entrepreneurs real-world goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics that they will be able to put into action for a successful future,” said Venus Chaney, CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of the South.
Local Girl Scouts also offer an option for those who want to support the Girl Scouts but not take the cookies home.  You can purchase Girl Scout Cookies from the girls and have them donate the cookies to the Troop-to-Troops program. This program ships boxes to our men and women serving in the armed forces. It’s a great way to support our military and our Girl Scouts at the same time. Some local troops also accept donated cookies for local charities through the Gift of Caring program.  Ask any troop if they have a local donation option to participate in the local donation program.
Customers will find a familiar line-up of cookie flavors in 2024 with prices remaining the same.  Choose from Thin Mints, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos, Samoas, Tagalongs, Lemon-Ups, and Adventurefuls for $5.00 per box or indulge in the Girl Scout S’Mores or gluten-free Toffee-tastics for $6.00 per box.  However you choose, you’ll be getting a tasty treat and supporting a time-honored tradition that supports local Girl Scout troops in your area.
The mission of Girl Scouting is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts Heart of the South encompasses 59 counties in east Arkansas, north Mississippi and west Tennessee. The headquarters are located in Memphis, TN, and regional offices are located in Jackson, TN and Tupelo, MS.
