After a long haul to face the Collierville Dragons, the only thing that matched the CCJHS Eagles football team’s intensity was the rain that started the moment the team stepped off of the bus.
After a brief moment to stretch, the Eagles stepped out onto the practice field to go head to head with the Dragons.
The first touchdown was scored by #4 Jaden Weaver in the first five minutes of the game.
Two more touchdowns, one by #1 Gavin Moody and another by #5 Ethan Burks soon followed. The Eagles’ defense never let up on the Dragons and prevented them from gaining a first down the entire game.
After 30 minutes of playing time and in the middle of what was likely to be another Eagles touchdown, lightning began, and the game had to be cancelled because of it. Coach Chad Hanna was proud of the team, especially the defense.
The Eagles will be facing Hardin Co. at home Thursday night.
