Freed-Hardeman University’s women’s golf team took to the links at the Chickasaw Golf Course for the first round of the FHU Invitational. Shooting a team 320 (+32), the Lady Lions find themselves in second place on the leaderboard.
Bailey Gilbert and Hannah Ruth Walton had the best round for the Lady Lions, both scoring 79 (+7) to land in a tie for sixth place. Gilbert sank a birdie on the par-5 13th hole, while Walton mastered the front-nine’s par-3s, making birdies on all three before the turn.
Riya Key and Makenzie Wilson posted identical rounds with an 81 (+9) to tie for 12th place. Key had a birdie on the par-3 12th hole.
Ansley Pratt rounded off FHU’s score in 24th place with an 86 (+14).
