The 2019 Lady Lions softball team was in the Top 10 in the NAIA for the cumulative team GPA (3.621) and was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Friday Oct. 11.
The Lady Lions came in fourth overall nationally in the NAIA division and was joined by fellow American Midwest Conference members Missouri Baptist (first), William Woods (third) and Columbia (9th).
Of the record-breaking 8,161 total student athletes across all divisions named to the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete team, the Lady Lions were represented by 10 players (Allie Mitchell, Annalise Jarnagin, Brittan Jarrell, Caitlin Mitchell, Emily Bradford, Kristen Hunsicker, Lilly Bombard, MattiAnne Sparks, Megan Frye and Savannah McGraw).
