Last Thursday night at Hardin Co. started off like any other night for the CCJHS Baseball team – strong bats and racing speed base running. Going into the third inning, the game was tied with Jaden Weaver on second and Ethan Burks up to bat. The pitcher threw the ball, and suddenly, it was as if time stood still. E. Burks power swung and launched the ball to the back of centerfield and over the wall. The Eagles players and fans erupted with cheer as the team stormed home plate to celebrate. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not overcome multiple errors and walks and fell to the Tigers with a final score of 4-6.
The Eagles players and coaches hold strong to a phrase that has carried them for multiple seasons – “A win will not define us. A loss will not stop us.” They look forward to picking up the bats at their home field on March 29 against the Lexington Middle Tigers.
