Chester County High School in collaboration with the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club, put on a mock disaster training in order to portray to students the risks that come with driving under the influence and texting while driving.
The City of Henderson Police Department, Chester County Sheriff’s Department and West Tennessee Healthcare Medical Center EMS helped out to show the dangers as well.
“Our obligation at the high school is that we protect and educate our students in that order,” CCHS Principal Ricky Catlett said. “The drill today was to show our students that one choice they take could impact generation after generation. If they text and drive, don’t buckle their seatbelt, don’t use good judgment, or drink alcohol and drink under the influence or any type of distracted driving could cause them to be hurt or killed and have an incredible impact on the community.”
