The seniors of Chester County High School have very different futures. Many are choosing the path of college, others technical school, others the workforce. Regardless of where it is, the future will be bright for this incredible group of students. Groups of students are attending several different colleges. Several students, including Melina Alexander, Addison Summars, Presley Rhodes, Kale Epperson and myself, plan to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Others, such as Rilee Vest or Mia Hurst plan to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin. Another group, closely associated with Chester County Theatre, plans to attend Freed-Hardeman. An interesting question is raised. How will these groups of Chester County Students interact with the rest of the college community? I sought to answer this question by asking how some of these students plan to engage themselves in college.
RJ Barboza plans to go from Chester County Theatre to Freed Hardeman University Theatre.
“I plan on becoming part of the FHU Theater family. I want to bring everything I’ve got to the table and contribute as much as I possibly can. It’s a great place to be.”
In Knoxville, Addison Summars plans on being involved with a sorority.
“At UT Knoxville, I want to be involved in Greek life. I want to join a sorority that best suits me and my interests.”
During my time in Knoxville, I plan to be involved with the University’s sports broadcasting work-study program in order to further my education and gain valuable experience in the field I plan to enter.
The next step for my fellow Chester County seniors is a major one, but one we are all prepared to make. We all want to integrate with the college community and enjoy our time at our respective colleges through all kinds of terrific opportunities, from theater to Greek life.
On Monday, April 5, the tennis team took the court against Scotts Hill. In a dominant performance, the Eagles beat the Tigers in both the boys’ and girls’ columns. The boys won 6-1, while the girls won 7-0. This keeps Eagle Tennis undefeated on the season so far.
Also on that Monday, the baseball team took on McNairy and scored a 5-2 win. A win over a rival is always a major win. Fans can tune into the baseball games on the Streaming Eagle Media YouTube channel.
