Senior events are kicking off at Chester County High School. Beginning April 30, prom tickets for the May 8 “Field of Dreams” will no longer be available due to the catering. The prom will be held at 7 p.m. at Chester County High School’s Eagle Stadium. That Friday, May 7, is the senior credit recovery deadline and the senior Chromebook turn-in date. The following Monday, May 10, is the annual Senior Tailgate. May 11 is Senior Awards Day Practice at 1 p.m., which is required to walk at graduation. May 12 is Awards Day at 9 a.m. Parents are invited to the event, and students are required to wear caps and gowns. Masks are required for the event. May 13 is Senior Event Day. The senior walkthroughs begin at 8 a.m., yearbooks will be handed out at 10 a.m., and the actual walkout is at 11:15 a.m..
Baccalaureate practice is later that day at 1:30 p.m. in Loyd Auditorium. May 16 is the actual Baccalaureate service at Freed Hardeman’s Loyd Auditorium. The service begins at 7 p.m., but seniors attending the event are required to be there at 6:15 p.m. Caps and gowns are required for students.
May 17 is the big day for seniors. Graduation Day will consist of an 8 a.m. breakfast for seniors at the First United Methodist Church, followed by a parade to the school. Graduation practice is at 10:30 a.m. at Loyd Auditorium with a 6:15 p.m. class picture. At 6:30 p.m., seniors will line up for the Graduation Service, and the actual Commencement Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for visitors, and as of now, there is no limit on the number of guests per student. Seniors are expected to wear dresses shorter than the gowns or a white button-up shirt with a tie, khakis, and dark dress shoes. Other acceptable shoes are flats and heels. More details regarding masks and distancing will be released closer to the date. Us seniors are very excited for the upcoming events and are thankful for some sense of community and normalcy at the end of this crazy year.
