With the first semester of the year coming to a close, there have been several notable moments that deserve recognition.
In sports, four seniors have signed to continue their athletic careers. Carter Welch signed to run cross country and track and field at Freed-Hardeman University. Tucker Allen signed with Harding University to run as well. Just last week, Aja Stovall signed to play softball with Freed-Hardeman University. And this past Monday, Leslie Salvador signed with Dyersburg State Community College. The football team reached the playoffs for the first time in three years. The boy’s golf team competed at the state level. The boy’s cross country team also went to state and placed fourth in their division.
In clubs, Beta had a very successful state convention, with seven awards being earned. Skills USA and the automotive department built a truck and raced it at a showcase in Bowling Green, Kentucky. FFA had a successful fundraiser selling mums and has worked hard to further the greenhouse that was started two years ago. We look forward to seeing what the second semester has in store!
I want to thank the city of Henderson and Chester County for their continued support of CCHS.
God Bless and Go Eagles!!!
