Here at Chester County High School, many things are happening. One thing in particular is the upcoming ACT. The class of 2023 has, in the past week, signed up to take the ACT test. The ACT test is a standardized test that high school students take to show themselves to colleges around the world. You can take this test as many times as you would like, but, here in Chester County, the highschool grants a student the ability to take the test twice for free, one time during their junior year, and another during their senior year. If they wanted to take the test more than that, they would have to pay a fee each time they took it. For some students, this test is the way that they get into the college of their dreams.
In sports, both the girls and boys basketball teams finished up their regular season play this past week. They did so by recognizing the seniors of both teams Tuesday, Feb. 15, where they played the McNairy Bobcats. The girls pulled out a hard fought win versus the Lady Bobcats. The boys sadly lost a tough one, but through it all, Tony Washington shined, recording a career high 35 points and 24 rebounds against the cats. Way to go, Tony! Also, our district tournament has started. The boys have advanced to the championship game, while the girls will play in the consultation game, which is a game to determine the third and fourth place teams in the district. Both teams guaranteed a berth in regional play due to their standings. Wish both of the teams luck on their road to success.
I want to thank Chester County and the City of Henderson for their continued support of us here at CCHS. God Bless and Go Eagles!
