The window for FAFSA is now open.
The annual pumpkin contest has begun! All teachers with a first period class are encouraged to be creative and dress up a pumpkin. They will be presented Monday, Oct. 28, and will be judged on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The winning class gets a breakfast.
Entry forms for the Miss Henderson Pageant are posted outside Mr. Johnson’s room. All interested participants will need to complete the form and turn in it by Oct. 22.
At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, Amanda Bolden from TN Achieves will be at the Chester County High School for a mandatory senior TN Promise meeting. This is the only mandatory meeting for all seniors that is state mandated. The meeting will last less than 30 minutes. After this meeting, students interested in continuing with the TN Promise Scholarship will have two more meetings and deadline requirements to continue eligibility status.
Yearbooks are currently on sale for $80 now through December.
Beta students, check your email, Remind and Google Classroom for important updates. Do not forget to log all of your service hours into the Google Classroom form. Congratulations to Sarah Porter! She is now the Candidate for State Office. Beta sponsors and club members would like to thank Sarah and Rilee Kat Vest for their excellent campaign platform presentations.
The Jacks Creek Fall Festival on Nov. 2 is in need of volunteers. Check Google Classroom for shift times and other information.
Obion Central High School hosted the Cross Country’s Best of the West. Runners ran the beautiful 3.1 mile course at the Wynridge Golf Course in Troy. The CCHS boys’ team walked away with the first place team trophy with an impressive team score of 26 points. Five of the team members received medals in the top 11, including Zachary Belew in 11th, Carter Welch in 10th, Tucker Allen in fourth, Gideon McManus in second and Evan Allen in first. The team will compete at Martin Westview this week. It will be the last regular cross country meet scheduled before the regional competition that will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Crockett County High School.
The boys’ golf team performed well Oct. 7 at The Farms in Dyersburg for regional tournament. The team placed runner-up in our region with a score of 331, and Austin Warren placed second in individual score with a 71. Good luck to Austin Warren in Manchester during the State Tournament!
The volleyball team hosted the District Tournament the week of Oct. 7.
