News from Chester County Junior High School

The seventh graders were studying elements, compounds and mixtures last week. This week is “States of Matter.” Last week, in history class, students were working on their final product: Historical Timelines.
In seventh Grade ELA, students are learning to select and explain evidence that supports their thinking about factors that helped our characters survive in the novel “A Long Walk to Water.”
In seventh Grade Math, they started Unit Three Rational Numbers Arithmetic last week. Previously, they were working with adding and subtracting rational numbers.
Students are finishing up their lessons on feelings and emotions in health class.
CCJHS Girls Soccer went up against McNairy, and they won on Monday, September 19.
At CCJHS, there are two fundraisers going on. One of them is a cheesecake fundraiser for chorus. The other fundraiser is a T-shirt fundraiser for cross country.
The Art club is making puzzle pieces and the best three win.
Last week, CCJHS held basketball tryouts.
CCJHS students who contributed to the CCJHS news are: Julianne Ratcliff, Addison Pratt, Hannah Harris, Anecia Mosley, Dalton Preslar and Karen Rose.
