We celebrated the 100th day of school on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Happy 100th Day of School!
Mrs. Crystal Wilson was chosen as the district’s PreK-4 Teacher of the Year. We are very proud of her and all that she does to help our students, staff, and community. 
IN THE CLASSROOM –Texts and skills this week…
Fifth grade ELA: With “The Phantom Tollbooth,” we will continue to explore the plot of a narrative. Point of View with texts about the Holocaust; Math: Fractions; Science: conservation of matter; Social Studies: World War II and the Holocaust.
Fourth grade ELA: Main Idea, Summarizing, and Making Inferences using the book, “Mountains”; Math: Comparing Fractions; Science: Earth’s Layers; Social Studies: Industrial Revolution
Students attend activity classes once a week (PE, twice) and acquire new skills. 
Academic Lab – Chinese New Year
Computer – Creating slide presentations
Library – Literacy Gallery Walk of authors and works set in India
Music – Students will be learning about the staff and names of notes.
Classroom round winners will compete in the school-wide Spelling Bee at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the auditorium. Students were given a packet of words last week to prepare for the Bee.
