College and Youth Football has started in Chester County. The students were allowed to kick off the season by wearing their jerseys to school last Friday. Several students are playing this year so try to come by Eagles Stadium on Saturday to see them in action.
Mr. Bob will be visiting the school on Wednesday with his animal show. His visitors will include a Nocturnal Lineup of an African Pygmy Hedgehog, Straw-colored Fruit Bat, California King Snake or other, Raccoon and our Eurasian Eagle Owl. Thanks to our PTS for sponsoring this program for the students.
We will kick off our annual candy sales this week. The kickoff will be this Friday. Watch for information coming home on Friday regarding permission for your child to sell. Returning the permission slip to sell will earn your child a lanyard and a collectible. There are different prizes for each box that is sold.
Our fourth graders are finishing up on their six multiplication facts and rounding whole numbers and identifying and explaining an example of figurative language in The Circulatory Story. They are using reference materials to clarify the precise meanings of key words and phrases in content-rich texts.
Our fifth grade students are working on powers of 10, comparing and rounding decimals numbers and fossils. In reading they will briefly summarize and share about setting, new characters, conflict and events; they will partner discussion on questions, analyze conflict development and discuss and respond to questions in their response journals.
We are still working on improving our attendance rates. Five Eagle Bucks will be given to each student that has perfect attendance for the month of Sept. If they still have perfect attendance by report card day, they will be given a token for the book machine.
Please make sure you are calling in to the school when your child is absent. We are required to make notes of any absences. Thank you in advance for helping us.
