Kindergarten had a busy week! We learned about reindeer and gingerbread men. In math, we learned about addition and subtraction. In reading, we learned how to blend CVC words. The students are becoming great writers, focusing on how to write an informative paragraph. In social studies, we studied colonial towns. We are looking forward to doing lots of fun Christmas activities, wearing our pajamas and watching Polar Express this week!
East Chester first graders were hard at work! They were very excited to begin Christmas literature week! They read The Polar Express and engaged in several awesome activities. First graders explored space and learned to read information on different graphs. They learned about government and the election process. They learned how to become more fluent readers and writers! It is a wonderful time to be a first grader at East Chester!
East Chester’s second graders learned a lot! They studied the cycles of nature. Last week, they focused on the stages that the water cycle takes in the form of a liquid, gas, and solid. They looked at how water forms a solid and becomes snow. They also learned about two digit subtraction with regrouping.
East Chester’s third graders worked hard! They did a study of animals. They finished studying about how scientists classify animals and what characteristics they look for. They learned about area in math. They had so much fun practicing their Christmas songs for the Christmas program!
