In kindergarten for reading, they are reviewing all third nine weeks’ skills. They will be focusing on the character, setting and plot of a story. In math they will review all teen numbers as well as working on timed addition fluency. They will be reviewing counting by ones, fives and 10s. In social studies they will be learning about farming! Keep up the hard work!!
In first grade for reading, they are reading a book called “Kate’s Journal.” They are learning about what Kate did over the summer when she went out West with her Nan. They are working on deciding which punctuation mark to use in sentences. They are reading about America’s Independence. They just finished discussing the Revolutionary War and are now learning how the United States of America came to be and the first president, George Washington! They love this study! In math they are finishing up balancing equations and adding three one-digit numbers. They will be moving onto one more, one less, 10 more and 10 less.
In second grade they are going to finish up learning about money. They will be working on telling time. They will learn how to decide if an activity happens in the a.m. or p.m. They will learn to use vocabulary like, “half past,” “quarter past,” and “quarter till.” They will also work on telling time to the five minutes. In reading they are working on reviewing skills for this third nine weeks. For knowledge they are continuing their study of the War of 1812. They will be doing some awesome writing to go along with it! 
In third grade for reading, they are reviewing how to write quotations correctly, comparing and contrasting two texts on the same topic and how to write book titles correctly. In math they are learning how to represent fractions as numbers. They will be working on fractions less than one, fractions greater than one, as well as plots and lengths. Way to go!

Yearbook pre-sale runs until March 17. 
March 14 – first grade teachers will be available to help with registration for next year from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
March 16 – Report cards
