It was another great week here at Jacks Creek Elementary School. Read on to hear about the amazing things we have been doing and how you can be involved!
Kindergarten had a wonderful week. We focused on sounds and writing letters in our reading curriculum, sight words, the five senses, rhombus (diamond) shape, counting and the number and word four. We are looking forward to our parent/teacher conferences coming up in October. Please make sure to return the form that was sent home with your conference preference. Thanks for all your help and support.
We are giving our best effort in second grade. We finished our unit on ancient China civilization and began the War of 1812. We learned about arrays and repeated addition in math to prepare students for multiplication in third grade. In social studies we learned about different landforms in Tennessee. We are so proud of all the hard work that second grade has shown since school began.
Third grade is super excited to be learning multiplication facts and earning parts of ice cream sundaes in the process! This week, we are taking the encase assessments for science, social studies, ELA and math. This has consumed much of our time Monday through Thursday. Please help ensure your children are prepared to do their best by getting a good night’s sleep, being at school on time and eating a nutritious breakfast each day. Connections between school and home are very important to a child’s success. We have parent/teacher conferences coming up soon and can not wait to share your child’s wonderful progress with you. With this thought, please continue to practice the skills and concepts at home your child is learning at school. Thanks for all you do!
Our Farmer of the Week goes to Harper Simon whose favorite books are books about Peppa Pig, and her favorite food is pizza. We are proud to have this student shine brightly at our school! Our Staff Farmer of the Week goes to Rachel Morris. Her favorite book is the Bible, and her favorite food is Mexican food. We appreciate all that she does for our school as one of our kindergarten teachers.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, our year looks a bit different. However, we want you all to have an opportunity to be a part of our JCES Parent Support Organization. Our goal is to raise $1,500 with 500 members! When we reach our goal, students will have a “Dress Like A Farmer” Day! PSO Membership Drive has been extended to Friday, Oct. 2!
Box Tops for Education: Box Tops are a super easy way to earn money for our school. Clip Box Tops or download the Box Tops for Education app. Scan your receipts to earn free money for our school! It is that easy!
