We had a great week before our Fall Break! Read on to find out what fun things we learned about!
Kindergarten had a great week! We finished up the first nine weeks and continued to work on rhyming words, letter sounds and blending to read words, beginning sounds, sight words, shapes, numbers and number words and comparing groups. We appreciate everyone participating in our parent teacher conferences, and we hope everyone is having a great Fall break! See you back on Oct. 19.
The boys and girls of first grade worked hard this week continuing with our study of the human body in reading. They also worked hard on working on subtraction in math. They also took their benchmark tests. The boys and girls were looking forward to a wonderful fall break.
In second grade we learned how to write a narrative story. We finished the War of 1812 and will start learning about cycles in nature after fall break. We continued to learn multiple strategies for addition such as number lines and break apart strategies. We focused on learning the lyrics and the history of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in social studies.
Mrs. Hailey and Mrs. Melissa hope you all are having a great fall break! We can not wait to see you back at school on Oct. 19. Parents, please continue to work with your child to strengthen and practice multiplication facts. It is an important skill for third grade.
Our Farmer of the Week goes to Lilie Thomas, whose favorite book is the Bible, and her favorite food is lasagna. We are proud to have this student shine brightly at our school! Our Staff Farmer of the Week goes to Charity Cook. Her favorite book is the Bible, and her favorite food is tacos. We appreciate all that she does as one of our second grade teachers.
The Chester County School System is now recognized as a critical infrastructure. This policy now requires students third grade and above to wear masks.
