It was a fantastic week here at Jacks Creek Elementary School!
Kindergarten had a great week!
We continued to work on sight words, reading and writing sentences, adding and subtracting and solid shapes. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving! See you in December!
It was a busy week in first grade. We continued learning about outer space.
We started reading fables and wrote about how to cook a turkey since Thanksgiving is approaching. We also learned more about place value in math. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with their family and friends!
Second graders hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving holiday. We all have worked hard and are now ready to enjoy our much needed break. We hope everyone comes back rested and prepared for the i-Ready assessments.
In third grade we concluded our study on Native Americans by reading two legends, “The Legend of the Bluebonnets” and “the Legend of the Indian Paintbrush.” We also studied true information about Pocahontas and compared and contrasted it with the details in the movie! There are definitely some interesting differences. In math we continued to work on finding area by using our multiplication facts. We need to be studying these multiplication facts nightly for fluency. We connected our reading and math by making multiplication Indian headdresses and wore them proudly to show we are learning our math facts.
Our Farmer of the Week goes to Braden Wireman, whose favorite books are books about adventures and whose favorite food is chicken. We are proud to have this student shine brightly at our school! Our Staff Farmer of the Week goes to Kady Mitchell! Her favorite books are the Bible and Rainbow Fish, and her favorite food is Mexican food. We appreciate all that she does for our school as one of our first grade teachers.
Please collect Box Tops! Each Box Top equals 10 cents for our school. This is an EASY way for us to earn money for JCES! Our goal is to raise $700. Everyone can help us reach this goal!
We will be having our annual Christmas Concert at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in the gym. Students are encouraged to wear red, green or Christmas themed attire.
We appreciate those who attended our Save the Farm Family Night. It was a fantastic night of fun! We are grateful that 35 percent of students and their families were in attendance. We hope that you will plan to attend our next family night schedule March 19!
