The Beekeeper of the Week is Ely Harris. Ely’s favorite book is the Bible. His birthday is Dec. 12, and his favorite food is pizza. Our Staff Beekeeper of the Week is Rachel Morris. Rachel’s favorite book is the Bible. Her birthday is Sept. 6, and her favorite food is Mexican or Italian food.
Kindergarten had a great week! Students have been working hard on reading words and sentences that have blends and digraphs, sight words, counting to 100, naming coins and their values and subtracting fluently. We are planning a field trip this Friday, April 29, to the Fire Station and Gene Record Park
First graders have been working hard! The boys and girls are continuing to learn about fairy tales during Read-Aloud time. During skills, they are working on putting a capital letter at the beginning of their sentences as well as putting the correct punctuation mark at the end of their sentences. They have also been working on learning about digraphs, ‘ch’ and ‘tch.’ Math has involved 10 more, 10 less, one more and one less.
In second grade we are happy to report that we have finished TCAP! We have worked so hard this year to master second grade skills. We will be finishing up our reading curriculum and review in math for final report card grades. We are so excited about future events and programs. We hope to see you there!
In third grade we are wrapping up our TCAP! We are very proud of our students. They have worked very hard this week. In reading we are reading the novel, “The Lemonade War.” So far students have loved it. We are reviewing skills learned throughout the school year. In math we are reviewing skills, mostly word problems. In science we are researching animals and learning about their adaptations. Please be on the lookout for notes coming home.
