We are fast approaching the end of the school year at Jacks Creek Elementary School with only a few weeks remaining. End of the year events we have planned are as follows: May 4 – Yearbooks, May 5 – Second and third grade field trips, May 11 – Field Day, May 18 – Kindergarten Awards Program at 8:30 a.m. and first grade Awards Program at 10:30 a.m., May 19 – Third grade Awards Program at 8:30 a.m. and second grade Awards Program at 10:30 a.m., May 20 – Last full day for students and May 24 – Report card pick-up at 10 a.m.
The Beekeeper of the Week is Molly Ward. Her favorite food is pizza. Her favorite book is Frozen. Her birthday is Aug. 16. The Staff Beekeeper of the week is Valerie Ray. Her favorite food is Mexican food. Her favorite book is “Kisses from Katie.” Her birthday is June 10.
Kindergarten had a fantastic week! Students worked on sentence reading and writing, reading words with blends and digraphs, letter teams, counting by fives to 100, subtracting fluently and naming coins and their values. We enjoyed a field trip to the Henderson Fire Department and Gene Record Memorial Park. Thank you to everyone who was able to come and enjoy this day with us.
We are happy to report that we have finished RTI testing! We have worked so hard this year to master second grade skills. We will be finishing up our reading curriculum and review in math for final report card grades. We are so excited about future events and programs. We hope to see you there!
In third grade we are FINISHED with testing! Our students have worked so hard and gave it their all. We are continuing to read “The Lemonade Wars.” We are using this novel to inspire reading over the summer and review standards taught earlier this year. In math we are working on two-step word problems. We are going on our “Mystery” Field Trip Thursday. I know our students will be excited and love to spend time with friends before going to Chester County Middle School. Parents, please be on the lookout for papers coming home as we cross the finish line.
