It was a wonderful week of showing what we have learned here at Jacks Creek Elementary School! Read on to hear what hard work and reward looks like!
Kindergarten had a great week. We enjoyed learning about spring and worked on reading words with digraphs, sentence writing, counting by fives, subtracting, sight words and coins and their value. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Spring Break. Students return April 4.
We had a fun week of learning in first grade! We continued learning about various animals and habitats. We completed shoe box habitat projects at home and got to present them in class by showing our work and reading a paragraph about our habitats. In reading skills we finished up Unit 4 by taking our unit assessments. In math we continued working on our counting skills within 120. We loved bouncing our way into Spring Break with jumpers as well!
We second graders and our teachers are enjoying our Spring Break! We hope everyone else is having a restful, fun and safe break! When we come back on Tuesday, April 4, we will be reviewing all math standards and work on sustained reading to prepare for TCAP testing!
Third grade teachers hope that you all are having a great Spring Break. When we come back from Spring Break, we will be getting prepared for TCAP testing. We will learn testing strategies and how questions are worded. In math we are learning how to generate data into a table.
Our first student spotlight of the week goes to Amberlyn Buchanon, whose favorite food is pizza and favorite book is “Cat in the Hat Comes Back.” Our second student spotlight of the week goes to Andrew Schemel, whose favorite food is pizza and favorite book is “Dog Man.” We are proud to have these students shine brightly at our school!
Jacks Creek Elementary collected 17 units of blood during our blood drive! Each donation helps up to three people, so our blood drive saved as many as 51 lives.
