Hello to all! A new month is here. Can you believe half the year is already gone? We are in such a heat pattern with Mother Nature. There was a very slight breeze on Saturday, and the skies were blue. The flowers must be watered every day. They are still pretty but droop fast. It was 94 degrees with a heat index of 104 as I wrote this. I hope everyone stayed cool and took care of the animals outside. Cool water and shade helps them as well as us.
We should get a reprieve from this humidity in the next few days. I look forward to 84 degrees. We will mow again this week. The heat has really kept this grass growing.
I wish all the school personnel and students a good year. I pray you all stay safe from illness and disease this year and safety in travels. Learn all you can; you will need it in the future.
We enjoyed a trip Thursday evening with some church members to Hagy’s Catfish Restaurant in Shiloh. Thanks to Steve Priddy for driving. The food was very good, and the fellowship was very enjoyable. We also enjoyed a potluck meal after morning service on Sunday, Aug. 1, welcoming Bro. Glenn Harris as our pastor and Bryan McMorris as our music director. We look forward to continued blessings and spiritual growth in the days ahead. Please come and join us anytime. You are always welcome. God bless.
Mifflin Baptist Church, Hwy 200, will have homecoming at 11 a.m. Sunday Aug. 8. TRUE WITNESS will be singing. There will be a potluck meal around noon. Everyone is invited to worship with them and enjoy good gospel singing. Pastor: Rev. Larry Rose. 989-0300.
Happy Birthday Don McLemore and Rachel Ellington, 8-1; Tyler Smith and Tanya Morris, 8-2; Paul Bozza, Karen Stutts and Nancy B. Taylor, 8-3; Aiden Seaton, 8-4; Josh Zimmerlee, 8-5; Teresa Gaugh, 8-6; and Joyce Brewer, 8-7.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Randy Baker, Charlie Beecham, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. Butler, Jackie Chambers, Walter Cooper, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Mark Pica, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Logan Rencher, Randy Sells, Dalton Seratt, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, Clarence Wells and Adam Wise.
Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“Even when we are not deserving, God still blesses/Even when we are not lovable, God still loves/Even when we are not listening, God still speaks/Even when we are not following, God still leads/Even when we are not obeying, God still forgives/Even when we are not answering, God still calls/Even when we are not faithful, God still stays/I’m so thankful that even when …God still does!” – Stacy L. Sanchez
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
