Hello from Deanburg on this cold morning! Aren’t you glad we live in good ole Tennessee rather than the northeast? These community neighbors and friends need our prayers: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Carolyn Brasfield, Jim Ruth, Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, Woodie Deming, Betty Quarles, Ms. June Davis, Johnny Roach and his son Johnny, Jr. This time of the year always brings out the best in people. Please reach out to our shut-ins and nursing home folks. Also, remember our military, our law enforcement and first responders, and do not forget the ones that have lost loved ones. Galatlians 6:2 – “Carry each other’s burdens and in this way will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Happy birthday to Annafaith Howell and Billy Max Mayo on Jan. 27. You two are in good company!
Devotion this week: “Faith that does nothing is dead. James 2:26 – Do Something. Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. Faith is the belief that God will do what is right. God is always near and always available. Just waiting for your touch. So let him know. Demonstrate your devotion: Write a letter. Ask forgiveness. Be baptized. Feed a hungry person. Pray. Teach. Go. Do something that demonstrates faith. For faith with no effort is no faith at all. God Will Respond. He has never rejected a genuine gesture of faith. Never. He still moves stones.” – from Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado
May God bless you all richly this week. See you back here next week, Lord willing! My number is 879-9777 to give me any news or families events.
