I hope everyone had a great week with the cooler temperatures.
I hear that Haunted Hollow has been great this year. I usually work serving food a night or two but was not able due to my back problems. I hope you have come out, but if not, you have two more nights – Friday and Saturday of this week.
We have two celebrating birthdays this week, so if you see Mike Mays on Oct. 23 and Christina Collins Long on Oct. 29, wish them a happy birthday! Count your life by smiles, not tears. Count your age by friends, not years.
Please remember the ones on our prayers list: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Carolyn Brasfield, Jim Ruth, Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, Woodie Deming, Betty Quarles, Ms. June Davis and our friends Johnny Roach and his son Johnny, Jr. Please remember to pray for our shut-ins and nursing home folks. Also, our military, our law enforcement and first responders, and do not forget the ones that have lost loved ones.

Our Deanburg memories are from Paula Wadley: “Bobby Taylor, my brother, and myself were born in Deanburg. We went to Deanburg School. We walked the railroad tracks sometimes. Miss Deloris Scoggins was our teacher. I remember her pulling my tooth. We had good times there. My best friend was Linda Joy Miller. We later moved away. Our Uncle Manson Roby built a store, and Bobby worked there on summer before going in the Air Force. Still spend time in Deanburg and enjoy it!” Thank you so much, Paula! Good memories!
