Greetings once more from Deanburg!
I hope everyone had a great week and a happy Easter. We had a wonderful Easter at Bethel Baptist church with Sunrise services at Chickasaw and regular services at the church. Wonderful message from Brother David Tull and thanks to Richard and Melanie Mann for the beautiful music. It was very nice.
Please continue prayers for these folks: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Jim Ruth , Bobby and Judy Ruth, Woodie Deming, and Samantha Mosier. Please remember those that have lost loved ones. There have been so many!
If you know anyone that needs prayer call me or text me. Also, keep our law enforcement, all first responders, and our Military in your prayers. I know everyone has heard our new administration wants to defund police. Just think about what that would mean! Pray that does not happen and pray for our country. Changes are happening that are just not right!
We have two new families in our community that I have met. Chad and Marci Meridith their two children Shirley and Coryden moved from Oregon in November. They bought the house Orban and I built in 1977 on Pleasant Springs Rd. Charles and Jean Murley had bought it from us in 1983.
And Tommy and Beth McDaniel have moved here from Memphis to Buck Lane. We are so happy to have you in our community.
Our devotion this week: “‘He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.’ – (Psalm 91:15-16) Look at the precious list of promises the Lord concludes this psalm with, dear friend! He says that: He will answer you when you call upon Him. He is attentive to you! He will be with you in the midst of trouble. He will deliver you from the problems that overwhelm you. He will surround you with His glorious presence and honor. He will satisfy you with a long and blessed life. He will show you His salvation, both in the problems of everyday life as well as through His eternal salvation at the end of your days.
Dear friend, you have the victory in God! Notice that this passage begins again with an action on your part: ‘He shall call upon me….’ When you ask God for help, He comes to rescue you, and He does so with the list of blessings that we’ve seen above. Isn’t that extraordinary? Dear friend, now that you’re likely home more often due to the quarantine, I’d like to propose something to you. Put on praise music and start praising God today with all your heart. Join the heavenly choirs, and begin to give all the glory to Him! You will see the change that takes place in you. =) God loves it when we exalt Him in the midst of difficulties; praise changes our perspective on things. Yes, our God is greater than the coronavirus! Amen! I’m praying for you and your family. Be filled with courage! You are a miracle!”
Happy birthday to Heaven Ross, our granddaughter and wife of Hunter, our grandson, on April 6, a special happy birthday to Legina, our daughter, celebrating her birthday in Heaven now; Hers is April 6, too. We will be sending balloons up to her Tuesday from her gravesite at 7-7:30 p.m. at Bethel as always! Any of her friends that would like to come are welcome. More birthdays are Chloe Perkins on April 7, Barbara Mayo on April 8, Braden Busby on April 10 and my grandson Mitch Henson on April 12. Happy birthday to each and every one!
I pray you all have a great week. God bless! Call 879-9777 to report any news. I would sure appreciate any contributions to my column.
